Welcome to this forum! I've moved your thread into the transmissions section. The O/D light is flashing to indicate that there is a code stored. Find out what this code is. You could check the fluid level if you remove a plug on the transmission.
Look in your owner's manual, and see where to check the fluid level. As for the light, you will need to get the codes read. As far as I know, standard OBD II scan tools do not read transmission codes (or ABS & airbag codes). A more advanced scanner is required, but they are affordable nowadays.
