hello, all.

Picked up a '94 Explorer XLT in PA and drove back to FL for $400. Has some minor problems and 1 major one, rich running. I got about 17 mpg across 1200 miles but she's got carbon coming out the exhaust and leaves the tell tale blackspot on the pavement. Checked the MAF sensor and verified that there was no diaphragm leak on the Fuel Pressure Regulator. Went to investigate O2 sensors and found the wires cut on the sensor on the drivers side y-pipe and the probe for the other side dangling next to the tranny.

If I disconnect the dangling sensor will that cause the computer to run a default profile for fuel/air mixture until I can get the new sensors in?

so not even 3 hours and you find the need to bump your post?

you need to back off of the caffiene.

fix the o2 sensors and hurry up about it.

LOL, already on it :)

And I like Caffeine. I mainline double espressos.

Look for ATF fluid in the vacuum lines! You could need a tranny modulator.
