My 98 still has its original front brake calipers. The right side one is exhibiting strange behaviour.

The inboard pad (the one pushed by the pistons) wears out extremely quickly. The outboard pad hardly wears at all. I have confirmed that the caliper sliders are well lubed and move easily as this certainly seems like a stuck slider, but it is not it.

Any ideas?

Did you, at some point while changing the pads, pushed in just one of the cylinders? Because that can damage them, scrape against bores. And then, they will "hang"...
And are you lubricating the sliding points for pads too? Quote:
"The slides and bushings play a critical role on dual-piston calipers. If there is too much play, the caliper could rotate on the slides. This will cause uneven pad wear."

In my experience, this is nearly always caused by the slide pins not being free.

Sliding points for pads and pins both lubricated.

I think I have pushed the piston's in one at a time in the past, however the piston's are working fine.

Same problem, only on a rear caliper. Pins new, lubed and slide freely. New caliper and still uneven wear. Next up is the caliper mounting braket itself. We shall see.

If the pins are sliding and the inboard pad is wearing quickly, your caliper isn't releasing (piston retraction) and should be replaced or rebuilt.
