Ok today I installed LED lights in my instrument cluster. looks okay, i think it could use a few more bulbs. but as i put it back together i realized my dome light no longer was working and the annoying ding dong when you leaves lights on or key in didn't work. The noise is ok i can deal without that. but the dome light not working is bugging me, i put LEDs in that too. I checked fuses and reattached eeverything I had worked with. No idea what is going on.

flip the bulb around in the dome light.
LEDs are polarity (?) sensitive (+ needs to connect to +, - needs to connect to -), if they are backwards, it will not work.

thats kind of the issue. I realized it not long after i posted that. I completely removed the old bulbs and rigged in my own. They work fine, its the dome light that doesn't. so what im thinking is i cut off the circuit andthis is the way its telling me something is wrong. I'm going to give that a try anyways. thanks, and any more ideas are welcomed :)

on the '01 wiring it shows the connection going through a few parts
- interior lamp relay
- instrument panel dimmer module (just a connection for power maybe)
- battery saver relay
the module/relays are conrolled by a GEM(Generic Electronic Module)

I can't see any reason to cut wires/accidentally break any wires doing this modification.

check the dimmer switch to see it's not in some funny position

If possible make sure all the LEDs are in the right way in the cluster - know which side is ground on the cluster and align the LEDs so they are correct.
a DMM(digital multimeter) would be handy.

so i decided to search every single fuse, becuase sometimes their stupid about letting you know one blew. found a blown cig liter and tow lamp. that did it.. I'll never understand this ****.
