odometer seems fast

i just got a stock 93 explorer in the beginning of January and the odometer read 39,000 and now it says 43,900. i know i haven't driven that much just city driving. so is my odometer broken or what?

Ditto on tire size and I'm going to go out on a limb and guess you bought it in january 2012 and not 2011

The last digit of your odo, Is it a black background with a white digit (full miles)or a white background with a black digit (1/10 of a mile)?
Are you reading the odo right?

its the all black with one white digit on the right. idk i think i am haha

The white one with the black digit is tenths of a mile. The first five are the full miles.


Does it read 04390.0?

I think you went 500 miles not 5000.
