I think BBK is your only option. I'm not an OHV guy, but I don't seem to recall any other options in my travels.

all right, thanks a lot.

also, on the topic of throttlebody's is there a trick to get the tps off? its just held on by two screws (not bolts, screws) and its really tight. i tried doing it after i got back from work (while the engine was hot) running and everything, and i still couldnt get them to budge. am i gonna have to pb blast those things?

thanks.

I have a used throttle body from a 4.6, I think it's 65mm, it looked like it would fit the 4.0 OHV if I made a spacer for the TB and made another path for the idle air bypass, as well the linkage would have to be changed a bit, it is something that I will be doing this winter if I have a chance, am currently putting in a new kitchen. It didn't seem like it was going to be that much of a challenge... you should do it first!

Chris.
EDIT
Sorry missed the question, the TB is aluminum and the screws are steel, dissimular metals etc etc. you wil probably have to be really careful to not snap off those screws, you can try PB fingers crossed...

Won't fit the OHV motor, sorry.

I had the same problem and ended up stripping out the heads. I read later that heat helps break of the seal of the Loctite on the threads. Use a small torch or something like it and give it a quick blast before trying to loosen. Supposedly works like a charm.

hmm... i guess ill go aftermarket. unless theres a way to get the stock one bored out (i know its not an uncommon practice with hondas, does anyone know where/how much/if i can get this done?) i really dont want to put aftermarket parts on if i dont have to.

also, my intake tubing has a couple small holes near the throttlebody elbow, and its dry rotted or something on the ring that goes around the throttle body, is this gonna hurt performance?

thanks.

I have a ported TB on my 4.0 SOHC.

I have one for a first gen 4.0. Wanting to sell bought it used from a guy that used it very little and has been setting on the shelf for last 4+ years. Not sure what it is worth but looks like new. BBK 66mm.
