I read with great intrest posts about oil additives and the harm they cause or waste of money they are. My experence comes from years of gunsmithing, in particular the 1911 style handguns. I have used
Militec-1 firearms lubricant for 6 years now and recommend it for all my customers. At a gun show a few years back the fellow at the next table told me about the automotive and industrial uses for Militec. He raced Miget cars and found engine life doubled with the recommended quanity of Militec used with the oil. Rear end life trippled from one season to 3 with little wear to the internals, only a precautionary overhaul that he probably could have delayed. I now use Militec in all my vehicles, in combination with the various oils (engine, trans, rearend) and any place lubrication is needed, it does not collect dirt and crap when exposed to outside applications. Transmission shifting is much smoother in both my F150 manual and the wife's 96 XLT high mileage (187K) Explorer. I know wear is virtually eliminated in firearms, function is better, and cleaning is easier with regular Militec use. Check their website for technical independant verification of the wear reduction claims they make. http://www.militec-1.com/ Any thing this good needs a look-at.
