I bought this truck at an auction, it seemed in good shape until I went to change the oil. The filter came off nice and easy(to easy) and went to put the new one on and it would not spin on after about 2 turns so I tried the old filter again, same thing. There doesn't seem to be a housing, it seems to be molded into the block.can the threaded bushing be replaced and how difficult is it?

Are you saying the threads that the filter screws onto are stripped, or that there are no threads?

I don't know if your 3.0 is like a 4.0 SOHC. The last time I changed my oil the threaded adapter came off with my filter. If yours is the same maybe it came off and fell into your oil drain pan?

Even with the threaded adapter back in place it took me several tries to get the angle just right to start threading the filter back on. I ended up sticking a socket extension into the adapter so I could get see correct angle for the filter.

Good Luck,
