Oil Guage has to warm up?

When i start my X, on colder days........but it doesnt have to be anywhere near freezing, my oil pressure(dummy) guage wont work until the engine warms up some.......after about 20-40 seconds usually. So my "Check gauges" red light is on too until it corrects itself.
It has done this for about 2 years now, anyone know whats causing this?

Just put a new oil pressure switch in, costs about $6 at Autozone. It seems to be pretty common for these things to stick as they age. Mine did the same thing, I replaced my switch, and now it works perfectly.
