Hi I have a question that has been asked before but I am getting several answers. I need to replace my oil pan gasket and I was told that I did not have to remove the engine or anything else on my 2000. I took all of the bolts out and now I can't get the pan out I guess someone told me a lie. Can I remove the front cv axels and front drive shaft instead of lifting or removing the engine or anything else. It looks like if I remove the cv axels and the 4wd unit It may work? If I knew this I would not have even started this now because of the weather but it is inside on a lift.

I did mine (4.0 ohv 4x4) by dropping front diff. It wasn't a fun job for me. Maybe if you unbolted the exhaust and engine mounts you might find it easier with the motor lifted some as well.

Its either side of the rear main that is tough to seal. I still have a leak, but its not bad enough for me to want to look at.. It still aggravates me every time I look at the driveway though.
