So I replaced the water pump on my wife's 2017 explorer limited then it jumped time, I went back in and replaced guides tensioners and phasers. My question is there any way to build oil pressure before starting it to reinsure it doesn't jump time again? Not sure what happened after I put the water pump in but I don't want to go back in for a third time.

Hold throttle pedal to the floor while cranking for about 5 seconds. Do that for 5 seconds, stop and wait a minute and repeat to minimize starter motor overheat.

Holding throttle to the floor is 'flood clear' mode and shuts off fuel injectors to prevent starting.

I did that with mine when I changed water pump, chain and guides.

Ok thanks I'll try that. Figured I'd see if there was an easier way than rotating it by hand

I got everything installed (timing components) got all the timing marks and went to turn motor over and went a quarter turn and stopped. I checked all my marks and still lined up. I'm stumped. I'm worried if I force it then something will break. Any thoughts?
