Probably a bad sender. Its not a real gauge, it should only should half or nothing.

sender

would that be the one in the instument cluster or the one one the engine?

New here too, needing help with the location of the oil pressure sending unit on my 94 Ranger 4.0 (pushrod) 4x4...PLEASE

Look in the drivers side wheel well at the bottom front of engine. There should be wires going into a spot around where water pump is. That's where it was on my 99 OHV Ranger. Idk how different a 94 OHV is.

I meant bottom front as in front of the side, not front of engine. It's on the side, just front most part.

Drivers side of the engine, towards the front. Pretty much behind the power steering pump.
