Billy,

CAREFUL here. TZhe brass fitting that screws into the engine block has tappered threads and you can crack the block if you overtighten it (hua? I wonder how he knows that?)

For the gage it should come with the standard fitting you need supplied with the gage. I believe it is a stadard 1/4" pipe thread fitting.

I have an Autometer mechanical oil pressure gage, it came with the appropriate fitting for the Ford engine.

My advice is just dont mess with teh big brass thing :)
I had to borrow an engine from a friend :)

do you mean that i should use coper fittings instead or just be careful not to tighten it too much

OKay let me explain.

The side of the engine cblock where the oil pressure sender is has a big brass fitting threaded into it.
INto this fitting (or for discussion purposes lets call it a "manifold") into this manifold is threaded the oil pressure sender unit for the stock gage.

teh manifold that is threaded into the engine is what has tappered threads. You dont need to do anything to the brass manifold. All you need is to replace the stock ford oil pressure sender with your new oil line and fitting.

I was just saying be careful because if you put a wrench on the "manifold" and overtighten it it can crack your engine block.

nice the gauges came today i am gonna have to get some fittings so i can fit all three senders into that port however the thing that pisses me off is the gauges did not come with wires
