oil pressure

We just bought a 96 explorer 4.0 6cyl. This is my first explorer. The oil pressure guage only stays about a quarter above low and was just wondering if this is normal or signs of a bad oil pump

Remember this is not a "real" oil pressure instrument.

If in doubt, hook up a real gauge.
