Ever park in one of those spots that's tight (ones that are easy to get in but harder to get out of lol) only to have the dumbass next to you really park close. Tried a few times but with the other car behind me parked was tough, finally got an angle backing out after multiple times and then I hear schhhhhh. Scraped my bumper on the wall side.

On the Mountaineers the bumper and lower body cladding all seem to be painted or covered with something (mines has the grey tone mono color on the lower), some kind of paint, has a little metallic/grey look to it. Not sure how to fix this or what color that stuff even is.

Anybody? I'm not sure how this would be repaired on these trucks being the bumper is painted over. Really don't want to sand the whole bumper and repaint for this one spot. But I'm not even sure if its a certain kind of paint or material, like the lower body cladding it's almost resembles moreso some kind of product coated on, not like normal paint. But could just be the way it looks...

might have to get the paint code from the dealer for that one, ,

It kinda dug into the bumper material so I'm not even sure if that could be fixed as if its repainted it will show those marks through? Next time I'll just hit the car next to me for parking like a jackass ****eyed and partly in my spot over the lines and at least put some damage into their car , the only way I could back out ended up scraping the wall, there was no way around it as I must have gone forward and reverse slightly turning multiple times to no avail.

As long as there are no deep groves in it you should have no problems getting it sanded and repainted. You can find the exterior trim paint code on the drivers door. It looks like "Medium Graphite Metallic" or paint code TR. If you buy a new piece you will have to get it painted anyway as it comes from Ford in black. That is standard by Ford on all OEM trim pieces. I had an old lady back into the rear passangers flare and cracked it. I had to get a new one from Ford and paint it.

i had a dupont paint selling place match my trim color as i couldnt get the color code for the life of me, and sanded a bit, used adhesion promoter frome autozone, filler primer, sanding, promoter, couple of drops of bondo for deep scratches, sanding, promoter, filler, promoter and paint. the dupont place actually did the matching by hand, and put enough paint in a spray can for me to paint the whole front bumper and have like half of ot left, it´s been a year and it looks great.

i dont know if there´s a dupont distributor near you... but it worked great for me.

ohh... and the matched can was like 13 bucks... great deal since i already had everything else, it took like 2 hrs and i have leftovers of everything.

Nice, do you have any pics?

One thing you could try would be to get some detailing compound from autozone or pepboys etc., put it on a microfiber rag and try to buff it out by hand. that could probably eliminate that paint transfer but be careful not to leave it on too long.

Hey Coppe, had sent you a pm, let me know when you get a chance to do the pics. Thanks!
