I did it with my 95. Only slight rubbing on the inside during full compression. My wheels are stock as well so with a little less backspacing you should not have the same problem. Have a shop like Discount Tires test fit the tires for you first.

How did 11.5's look on stock rims? Did they bulge too much? My tire guy told me that 11.5's would be too big for a stock Explorer rim. Any truth to that? Got any pics?
Some people have 12.50's on stock wheels and say they are fine. I myself would not go wider then 11.5's. They should work fine. I'm pretty sure that Rick is running 11.50's on stock rims now. He could beable to tell you more.
