Hey there everyone, I'm looking for an online service manual for a 1994 explorer. I just bought one a month ago and I'm looking to correct a few problems. I found a disconnected connector with two wires (one is red and the other is gray with a yellow tracer). The connector comes out of the harness running next to the injectors on the intake manifold. There was also a disconnectod vaccum line that runs from the "T" right under the throttle body. I'd like to know what they go to. I can't seem to find anything to plug it into, so I'm guessing a sensor is completely missing? Also I need to fix the fuel float valve and the transmission modulator since the guage is dead and the engine eats tranny fluid. Thanks for any and all help guys, I'll post a picture of the disconnected tube and connector here shortly. :D:

The first picture is the location of where the vacuum tube comes from. It's the tube that goes off to the right side of the picture. This is located directly under the Throttle Body.

The second picture is an up close shot of the connector and the colors of the wires.

The third picture shows the vacuum tube(plugged with a bolt), and the connector in the center of the picture. Where do they go?

thank you for the info, would you happen to be able to show me a picture of all of that? It would be very helpful. :D

madexplorer93, i think he is asking if you can quickly run out to your truck and take a quick pic...it sure would be helpful to him ;)

Yes that would be helpful. I've been sitting here searching for an hour now and still can't find any pictures under the hood of a 1994 explorer, that is useful to me.

...thats what i thought so i took a couple on my 91 and it is setup a little different ...give me a minute...;)

here we go...the pics are not the greatest but if you look at the vacuum hose going down the valve cover , it goes to my canister on the drivers side right next to the radiater...my electrical connection actually comes of the left fender...if you look at the other pic you might see how my electrical is run in the same area...if you need more help, let me know...:D

madexplorer93, could you remove the reposted pics please, thanks...;)

...hmmm, i was seeing them both fine, a little huge, and it looks like the previous post 12 was removed, and thanks...i have heard of some problems with vista and firefox lately on pics...i hope mine are visible...;)

this is why a manual is essential, preferably a ford service manual.

ya got one??? you might also be of some help till we find one quicklook2, your X is the same year, you might be able to help him with some pics??? :D

...there you go...your the man brooklyn...;) :D let's get him on the road...j/k..

i do have the ford manuals.

thanks Brooklyn, but I checked alot of those and I can't find it. I'm just looking for a drawing or picture that shows those parts and the hose routing. Maybe quicklook2, you could scan those couple of pages out of your service manual for me? It would be awfully helpful :D
Thank you everyone else as well for trying to help me out! :D
Tbars4, thanks for those pictures, but it doesn't help enough since you don't have the same setup. Thansk for the effort. :)

i will see if i can find what you need tonight or thursday.

it would help if you post the picks from post 2 again, maybe smaller, as they do not show up.

I have figured out that the connector is supposed to go to the Canister Purge Solenoid. Does anyone know where that is located? Also, do I really need it to make the car run better?

...sorry, i actually think the site is acting up...if you look at my pic mine is located by the cannister...from what i make out on yours is you plug the solenoid in at your electrical connection...that vacuum hose plugs into it and you need another hose to the cannister...pretty easy really...;)
