Yes I remember seeing that episode. And I only watched it to see them install it and play it. They had to weld metal braced fram inside the car to hold the sub nad used 6k watts to power it. They put in a cheasy SPL meter in the dash for the owner. When they turned it on with both doors open, they couldnt sit inside it and the camera couldnt show you anything since the picture was so blurry. The camera man outside about 3 feet from the door, his camera was vibrating. I think it was 158db, but they didnt turn it all the way up and wasnt at full power.
I was impressed at this sub!! Not to many shops have seen it. I would like to hear one upclose! I still remember my buddies Mazda truck with a topper, walkthrough cab, 8 Solobaric 15's mounted in a clam shell type box, 10k watts from 10 Kicker ZR1000's, 8 optima's, 8 1.5 farad caps and 2 200 amp alternators. That truck was insane!! The trucks body (with doors closed and windows up) would buldge out when it hit. The windshield shattered once and flew out twice. It was his daily! Ohh the days of being young and dumb. I miss them.
