Well i have been busily getting ready to swap enigines on my 91 X while i was taken everything off to remove the motor i started looking at the Fan/Fan Clutch assy. on there now ans was noticing how close it is to the idler pulley. Now i know this is not the stock setup or is it? The '93 motor i got has the plastic 11-blade fan on it and was wondering if i should keep the plastic setup on it or the metal fan??

Here's a couple pics to clarify what i mean:

Does the first pic show the fan on the engine

The first pic shows the metal fan on the old engine still in the truck look at the idler pulley and you can see how close the metal is to the idler pulley.

And the second pics is close-up of how close the clearance is.

That is so crazy. Man that looks like one little vibration would make the fan hit the pully. Mine is not even close to that but i dont have a metal fan.
