I recently installed an Optima Redtop battery...heard they were the best.
About a day after iinstalling it, the idle seemed very low, and suddenly my "ABS" light came on, and it has remained on for the past week...has this happened to anybody? What can I do to correct this?

Mine started idling a bit lower than before, after I installed my Red Top. My dad and I figured it probably had to do with the engine needing to idle higher to power the alternator for my near dead battery. We believe it was the stock battery because the other owner said he hadn't ever changed it and he bought it back in 1999 or so. I'm not sure about the ABS light. You think it's just coincidence?

What causes it?

My optima red died in my black truck.. I must have a power drain somewhere.

I didn't see any idle difference when I put my red top in.

Do you know how old your other battery was? If you read my post, I think the reason it idles lower has to do with how "dead" the battery is.

I had a Marine Blue Top Optima and never could kill it. Mine idled very low afterwards too

Come to think of it, a couple pg months ago I installed an Optima Yellow Top and I too have noticed an idle speed drop.

Any reason for this behavior?
