Got my bracket today so I decided to install the overhead console. Took about 2 hours. I took my time and also pulled the dash and headliner to make running the wires as easy as possible. The only problem was the very front of the console, at the windshield, doesn't stay flush against the headliner. I accidentally broke one of the little clips, and my alarm antenna is there, so that's why. Other than that it's great! I've got a few pics below.

looks good, 2hrs NICE, lol i spread mine out over like 2 days cause i was being lazy, had to many projects going on at the same time, the OHC, center console upgrade, new KC's, did u have any prob with the temp coming up accurate, cause mine reads "OC" a lot, i asked one of the other guys who has done this mod and he said either temp sensor was bad or not wired right, i rechecked the wiring, and its good, so i guess i'm looking for another temp sensor, funny, cause the one i have was actually on my truck from the factory but i didn't have the OHC, so why it doesn't work who knows. lol

Looks good. I would have gone ahead and replaced the dome lights with better bulbs though.

As for JPA's temp sensor problem, make sure the sensor itself is clean and gets good airflow when the truck is moving.

alec, can u open it up and clean it somehow, i was to nervous to do that, guess i shouldn't be if its not working correctly anyway. huh

Thanks. The temp is coming out fine, even at high speeds and I don't have the speed sensor wire connected to it. Alec, what kind of bulbs should I replace these with?

dunno, yours just look awfully yellow :D

Yeah they do. I just ordered some white LED's off eBay, so I'll be changing all the lights to LED. I remember there being some SportTrac on here with the same thing.

why would you want brighter or whiter lights from your overhead console light?

for the few times my passenger actually used them while moving i could stand the brighter light. made it much nicer to get in and out at night and see things when i was stopped.

I'm changing all the interior lights to white LED. Right now they're colored bulbs, and I'm through that phase, maybe now I'll be able to see properly.

Looks good man!! Actually it looks like it was installed from the factory. It took me about 3 hours to do mine, due to the fact that mine wasnt provisioned, so you had it made!! :) Mine doesnt sit flush at the windshield either, so no biggie. Good job!

hey, to anyone that has installed one of these. i pulled the wiring out of a 94 limited, and tried using the installation guide on explorer4x4, but some of my wire colors dont match up. for those of you that have 95+ wiring, can you tell me which pin (numbered) is which wire? so i can hooked this up right. thanks!

Nevermind about the above post, i got it working now. but now i have a question. my temp was reading fine when i left the house this morning, but when i came to work, it was reading "5C". the sensor is brand new, as per ford dealership. what could it be?
on a side note. the plug for the sensor, i already had installed in my 92. it was part of the wiring harness, from the factory. i thought the consoles didnt start appearing in 93? but i had one, plugged in the new sensor, ran my two wires, and it worked (up until now) thanks yall!
