I had a friend who had a PA system as well as a digitized horn where you had disks with different sounds in his Chevelle. I have looked everywhere for both of these things and can't find them! Does anyone know where I can find these things? Also, is it illegal to have a PA system?

Try JC Whitney's Everything Automotive catalogue.

I think it's a lot like most of the automotive accessories. You can buy it, you can install it, but if you're caught using it will depend on the police officer. I don't think it's illegal to have a PA in your car, though people would be really annoyed at you for using it, perhaps just noise pollution at best. If not JC Whitney, then perhaps Radio Shack, you might have to special order though. Let me know how it goes!

I have a PA system hooked to my CB.
Bought the CB and PA Speaker at Radio Shack for around $75 total.

To touch on the leagal side. Yes and no for leagal part. No it is not illeagal to use. Yes, it is illeagal if you use it wil a siren! I would not suggest that. If you get cought it's a charge for impersonating an emergency vehicle. But if you just want to give stupid drivers a hard time that is not illeagal. I have one on mine! it is a ton of fun too!

Kubben, does it sound good? and is it loud? Where did you place the speaker? Thanks for all the replies.

I know that http://www.galls.com has them. This place has just about anything you need in terms or "emergcy" equipment. In fact I just ordered 2 sets of light switches and a set of "hidden" strobe lights for the front bumper. I love toys.

i had a PA on mine too, but i had to uh, Tim Taylor it. cuz you see 7 watts is ok for everyone else but i needed more, i hooked an old 200watt jensen amp up to mine. boy that thing was fun. pissed off a lot of people though had one guy chase me all over houston but i lost him cuz he has a little car and i have an explorer! hoppin curbs and cuttin across fields is so much fun!

oh ya- i had speakers (2) ghetto rigged duct taped to my frame facing forward right behing the front bumper.

I have the Cb and PA installed on my sport trac! I mounted the speaker for the pa in the engine compartment. Yes the speaker is plenty loud. I went with the five inch siren from Radio Shack. The speaker was 12.00 and the actual CB that powers the PA was 79.99. Hope this helps.

I put my PA speaker on the underside of the frame on the passenger side. There is a hole in the front of the truck right in front of it so it sounds perfect. The only other legal issue you might have is cussin in public or impersonating a police officer, not just a siren but saying something like "pull you vehicle over" with an official sort a sound. I try to avoid saying those type of things. I usually stick with "gee mister that a nice car, NOW YOU NEED TO LEARN HOW TO DRIVE IT!!" oh man soooo many stories. The looks on people's faces are marvelous!!!! TOOO MUCH FUN!!

Im also in the process of adding a second rear speaker. I want to put it on three postion switch so I have front, both and rear. I just want to be heard by tailgaters.

I put my speaker in my front grill. My PA has some probs though, anyone have an old one with PA out they could sell?
