When I get my new rims, I am want to paint my break calipers. How would I go about doing this and what type of paint would I use? Thanks in advance.

use brake cleaner and rags or scotch brite pad and clean it up. go to pepboys and get brake caliper paints

Would I have to take the caliper off or can I paint it while its still on?

you can paint it while its on if you 1 clean the area really good 2 geta garbage bag and masking tape and mask of what you dont want to paint

I just painted mine last night. I did them on the truck. I did exactly what was said about... covered everything with garbage bags and masked it off. I was looking for the brake caliper paint at pepboys but coulnt find it. I ended up getting dupont engine paint from napa.... its good for 1200 degrees and has ceramics in it- pretty cool stuff.

If you go to a performance shop they might have a product my foleatec I think. It is a laqure that you put on your calipers so it gives it that professional look.

What, you guys' calipers aren't painted? Mine are blue out of the box...

I would take them off for better, more professional treatment. If you do a half a** job you might have to touch-up or do it again later,,,,,,-----,,,,,,
