I'm sorry dear... I can't make it up earlier and right now it doesn't look like I'll have all my parts in time for the 19-20 :( If you can't stay until the 19-20 I say we definitely push this run back a bit, maybe even into September if no one else minds. Obviously none of us (except Draper :p) have our crap together and wheelable. And before Skunk gets pissy again, no one's dropping out- I'm just suggesting a different weekend.

Lt- I'll be out in Denver as soon as I sell my house, I'll give you plenty of warning but you better have a free weekend this time!!!! :D :bounce: :D

im down for whenever. But id love to hear back from Rookie about the axle.............

i'll stay for the 19th....
and yes dear I will...and by then I hope i'll have a new bumper....
oh as well, whos gonna drive ur expos out? i know the way and would be willing to drive one!

2 Questions:

1. Do we even have enough trucks for a run on the 19th?

2. If the answer to #1 is yes, who's gonna guide?

I hate rocket scientists, they are too damn smart.

He makes a good point, we should have enough for a run ( Me, Spas, Rookie, Tilt, jwrezz and maybe Marci or a friend of mine w/ wrangler on fullwidth and 38's) In that case, marci could guide us as far as I know, correct me if im wrong. IF we move it to the next weekend after then Skunk could guide I assume and we would have an extra truck or 2.

As soon as Rookie gets me a t-case I'll have my doubler and 4.7 gears installed... ;) Unless of course I figure out a way to trade for a turbo tranny and t-case from a guy in my local club... But either way I can't make the weekend of the 19th, I'll be in Dewey Beach, DE for a rugby tournament and all the drunken debauchery that goes with :p

Im all for moving it to the weekend after, lets get an official answer so people can start making plans. This is the stuff that always makes our runs fall through.

Jeff, what are you planning on now that you are selling your X?

i want to get this locker installed and go for one last run with the east coast peeps!!

Alright, if this works with lindsey and rookie, im going to say move it to the 26th-27th. It gives me more time to get **** together and hopefully suits a few others better as well.

And to the hazeltown natives, I may be coming up the 1st or 2nd week of septmeber with some guys from around here. Wrangler on 38's, scout on 39's, ect. let me know if the skunk is up to play with the big boys.

EDIT: Damn it all, I dont care.

This run is being planned for the 26th and 27th. If you can definatly-without-a-question-of-doubt-make-it let me know asap so we can get a count and plan accomidations. If you are just tuning in and dont feel like reading the rest of the post we can either camp outside locally or stay at a local motel (my prefrence, its hot as balls in PA)

Im am planning on running both days with some of the local yokels as long as we can get 3 trucks together. (Thats why im picking this weekend, it works out better for them and our guide) If you want to run with us, be able to run atleast a blue trail (32's or up, locker, lift, driving experience) We can run anything as crazy as you want, and if you break we can prolly fix you back up and send you on your way. If you want to ride along, feel more than welcome too. I have 2 open seats and im sure there will be more. Anyone is welcome to come. Any other questions let me know so I can get things sorted out, other than that I hope we can acually get a real turnout and not look like the east coast losers we usually do.

well i cant make it then cause i'll be heading out to CO by then....
i expect pics and someone with a tuna joke or 2....

*warning* I am about to piss many people off, please read it all the way through and post feedback.

First, on lack of participation

This is getting out of hand. I realize things come up. It happens all the time to everyone. Money is also an issue in most cases. It just seems that EVERY run that is EVER planned anymore doesnt happen or ends up being 2 or 3 people. I am not aware of any other group that has the same results. We have a rare thing. Not only can we go wheeling at paragon but at other places on the same trip. Not to mention access to repair anything that breaks and ability to get the parts needed. A free floor or couch to sleep on in air conditioning. We also happen to know a few verry good guides. I doubt any other group has it this good. Yet ours seems to always drop runs. Perhaps this is motivational. People arent motivated to go on a run so they dont try hard to get ready for it. I dont know for sure.

So what I am asking is that EVERYONE in this thread post about what could be done better to make the runs happen as planned. EVERYONE has to have atleast one suggestion. I dont know what it is that other groups have that we dont. We have some good people, good places, and great times.

It's like this in every club known to man... 15-20 people will say they're gonna come, by the day of the run 6-7 haven't backed out... It's the nature of the beast, most people don't put offroading first in their life and have other more important things. Especially for the people with families and stuff... So while yes your post is very true... It ain't gonna change a goddamn thing :p

All I can do is laugh.

I honestly don't know what's happened that we can't seem to hold a run together anymore. I used to come up regardless of whether I had something to wheel or not, but that was because there was always a garaunteed seat in someone else's vehicle. Nowadays there just aren't enough trucks to even qualify for the 3 vehicle minimum :/

I'm trying guys, I'm trying. My life isn't nearly as carefree as it was years ago- I HAVE to put other things before wheeling now. Things like selling my house and building an Explorer that is capable of more than scooting around the parking lot at 3mph. And that goes for Blackjack too- I've got a 92 that pisses trans fluid whenever she gets off camber, a 95 with a blown front suspension and a 98 with no power steering. And no money to fix any one of them. I just can't help it right now, I'm sorry.

If you guys wanna schedule a concrete, not-changing-the-date run, by all means do it and I'll find SOMETHING to drive up there if only to hang out for a while. Although you may forget that there're a LOT of things I CAN NOT participate in anymore in Hazleton... maybe if Skunk would actually try to work with me on some of them I'd come up more often but that hasn't happened yet and nor do I think it will anytime soon. Otherwise I'm out of any runs til I get this GodDamn POS place sold and get my ass moved into a new home :(

We dont get nearly 6 people for a run. It usualy ends up as 2 or 0. Thats the part I dont get. I see large groups everyweekend that are from a smaller total group.

Spas, You have made almost everything and are probably the most reliable of all of us. Everyone has things come up once in a while. It just seems that everyone is having something come up every time.

I am still looking for sugestions here.

With us, it's simple...we have a child and the responsibilities/projects that go along with it. We can't control her getting sick and when she has activities, we're at them. We come when we can. That's why I usually don't commit until the last moment. For example, Rachel came down with a virus over the weekend and ran a 102+ fever. Ain't no way I'm going wheeling when my daughter is sick like that...I can't control or schedule that. I also have a job that requires me to travel on very short notice at times...

I have next weekend blocked for going to Paragon, but it's the only open weekend I have in August, and once Rachel is in school and sports, our weekends are pretty much toast.

We do our best to come wheeling, but life interrupts our plans us more frequently than we would like it to.

As a side note, one of the other things that keeps us away is all the drama and bickering. My daughter does not need to see it, I won't expose her to it, and I don't like it either.

The only suggegestion that I can think of is to set at date, stick w/ it and don't allow any b/s in the thread.

Have a thread to offer a few dates if you want, actually, a poll would be better! The most votes and your date is set. From there it's either yes or no. Then either open the thread to planning, or start a new one to plan it.

This thread has to be at least 10% on dates and changing them.

Ya know this thread was just started as a "Any one up for a run?" kinda thing. So I think just this once we can let it go.
