Parking Brake Light coming on

Hey there guys, my friend called me to ask why her Parking Brake light is coming on when the parking brake is not set.. I saw a prior post that it could just be the brake fluid level being low. are there any known issues?? Im East Coast and She's West Coast so I cant get out there to look at it, but I would love to help her out.. thanks and I appreciate any suggestions you might have or scenarios I can put her through to trigger the light.. example "If she starts up and its not on, but then hits the pedal it comes on"

If the problem is not the brake fluid being too low, then it is probably because the pedal is not returning all the way to the up position.

John you beat me to it, i think you helped me with this a couple months ago, all you have to do is pull up on the brake pedal
