I'm dead in the water. 98 Explorer.
Here's the background...sorry for the length
I added an electric fan and spliced into circuit 1003 (GY/Y) at the blower motor switch to get power that is hot in run to drive a relay that powers the fan. I ran the wiring up over the column and out to the fan relay. Fan quit working (yet engine still ran) so I decided to look into what was wrong with the fan. I found the lead I ran from the splice to the relay had got pinched in the steering column and shorted, taking out fuse 10 also. I replaced the fuse and went to start. Now the thing won't even start.
I cranks fine, has fuel pressure and spark. Checked connectors and they all look fine also. I don't know much about the PATS system, but I did notice that while cranking, the theft light is on solid.
Could I have damaged the PATS system...where can I find a description of what state the theft light should read at different times. Honestly, I never paid much attention to it before.
Appreciate the help!
