I have completed the 5.0 swap and did the wiring for grounding the relay, the pats system from the explorer and etc, my new problem is when i try to start the car it cranks fine but it doesn't start when i run the codes it doesn't have any codes and the theft light doesn't come on at all even when turning the key on from off to run it doesn't come on, only time i comes on is when i disconnect both power wires battery and accessory wires the theft light comes on soild which it shouldn't do if the power was disconnected, any ideas?

Can you hear the fuel pump coming on

Need details

5.0 from what year? What year pcm are you using? What is the 5.0 installed into

You must transfer the pcm, pats module and key and tumbler from The 5.0 donor into the recipient

Fuel pump works, 2000 ford explorer 5.0 to 2004 ford ranger swap

PATS doesnt control the fuel pump. 410 covered it.

And everything pats related is done, thats why i posted it in first post, light never comes in unless i disconnect the pats module power wires both if them then it stays soild on

Something is not right with the wiring to your pats light it should never be solid on it should slow flash, Rapid flash, or go off

Something did not get transferred over properly or? Need details
What year is donor what is 5.0 in… otherwise pretty much shooting in the dark here

If the pats work was done correctly you wouldn’t have a solid theft light

what dash harness? looking at the wiring between 00 expl and 04 ranger its not a plug and play swap.

Do you have another way of messaging so I can send pictures and videos to you

04 ranger uses completely different type of pats there is no wiring to the pats module behind the pass airbag you would have to completely create the harness
Or just install all of the 5.0 donor pats stuff under the steering column

You are going to have lots of custom wiring to do nothing 5.0 is plug and play into an 04

Here is a thread where I converted a 02 sport trax to v8 very similar to what you need to do here

Pats wiring is covered in that thread

If I recall correctly there are two blue/l green wires at the back of that cluster… make sure you are feeding the correct one for the theft light

You have the 04 wiring book yes?

I have shopkey pro, i can look up all wiring diagrams for most cars and from what i seen + the wiring diagram, theres only 1 dark blue light green wire located in pin 10, also i used a power probe and probed it also

Copy that just making sure gotta cover our bases

Does anyone here have the wiring diagram plug for the plug that connects the engine harness to the rest of the vehicle for a 2000 ford explorer 5.0 and the 2004 ford ranger 4.0 some stuff is not working so im wondering if im missing plugs or something

The big square 42 pin plug? Thats c115 on an Explorer c110 /112 on a ranger

Can’t believe you got this far without it
Many wires change locations in that plug year to year and model to model you must address every wire on paper and build a map

The v8 does things a little differently, like the alternator wires run through that plug, on a ranger they do not

What I do is map out c110 on paper both for the ranger and the explorer then figure out what wires don’t match and then where they need to go on paper

You really should have the 2000 explorer wiring manual by now and the same book for your ranger

Ty for the plug numbers, with that information i will be able to use shopkey to lookup the diagram, i am good at alot of stuff but even then the people that are good/great need help, and for helping me i thank you

No problem!!

Dude I’ve done about 20 v8s into ranger based vehicles…. They are all different
I always need help… so I help others

If you do look these up online you will want to print everything out so you x n build maps on papers … otherwise very difficult to keep track of what goes where and why

There are a couple of other plugs to be aware of the big square one by the battery/ abs pump has ac oil pressure and alternator stuff going on you need to deal with.
And on 04 ranger there is another round one near the transfer case that has the fuel pump and reverse light wiring inside of it… you will have to run some wires from that sucker up to the engine bay because on the v8 they connect way differently

Yeah that plug by the battery its got the battery light wire oil pressure light, the high side pressure switch for the ac system and then the other 3 wires the explorer had i got all that rewired already besides the oil pressure light

Good job!

Ac clutch, ac high pressure switch, Oil pressure and air suspension feeds all at that square plug
The ranger also has the voltage regulator from dash to alternator in there whereas the v8 they are in c115
