Here is what It is currently set at.

Current settings:
New Pinion Shim .044"
Backlash .011"


The OLD factory Pinion shim was .034"

What does this tell you? The Drive side looks good to me so far. The Coast side on the other hand looks horrible. I can't find any figures in the manual that look like this. Any suggestions?

Have you tried moving the pinion towards the ring gear just a little bit more? This would probably tighten up your backlash, as long as you're over 0.007

your close, usually the factor shim to the new one is pretty close most of the time.

Yeah, move the pinion a little deeper in toward the ring gear and see what it looks like (maybe another.005" or so)
