PCV Valve Please say it isn't so

I've looked at all the posts and the pictures and they're great but I can't find my PCV valve. I've got a 97 SOHC and there are 2 lines running from the sides of the intake manifold into a Tee and then to some dark, invisible place at the rear of the engine. Please tell me that's not where the valve is! Actually please tell me where it is.

PCV valve

If you have the 5.0L, the pcv valve is behind the engine. It is very hard to get to from the top. Easier if you have truck lifted up.

actually, in a 5.0 liter, it is the very rear of intake manifold, dead center.
But then, you already stated it was a sohc
