Pealing Clearcoat..

The clearcoat on my hood is beggining to peal (probably from overwaxing), is there anything I can put on it to protect it?

Also, can clearcoat be reapplied easily?

it is not from over waxing.

What you are experiancing is delamination.
The paint can no longer adhear to the vehicle.

For optimum results, strip and repaint.

But the paints fine, it's just the clearcoat ontop of the paint. So far no paint has peeled.

So perhaps the clearcoat is oxidizing, either way the news is bad. The only real fix is to sand to primer and repaint. You may be able to wet sand and freshen it up for a little while. You may also find some other products at the parts store that mwy help for a little while.

clear coat is part of the paint process.

With out the clear coat the paint is the next to go.

I know I'm resurrecting here, but anyways... can I not just reapply a clear coat to the parts that are peeling? The paint itself is still fine.

Unless you sand all the clear smooth your clear will never lay flat.
It is on the brink of impossibility to sand just the clear and leave the color uneffected.
