Hey guys, I just bought a pair of PIAA Foul Weather fog lights off of ebay for my 98 explorer XLT. I was doing some research because I read that Piaa dosen't make the clear fogs anymore... The ones I bought were clear. According to this photo,

they are 1550's, what type of lights are those? The discription says they are fog lights but fogs don't come in clear anymore. I know driving lights are 1552's so what gives? haha Just a bit confused, thanks!

the 1500 series was available with 3 different lenses, I have the same fogs but with the irridium lens (or whatever, yallow and blue) they were also available with a smoothclear glass cover.

those are PIAA 1500 lights.
Replacement lenses are $60-90, trust me I found out the hard way (had one break, then 2 weeks later the other) I got a scrap piece of 3M clear bra from the tint shop for $5 and put a cover on the lens for each fog of this stuff. That was like 5 years ago and I have not had a chip since, the 3m stuff also looks and sticks the same as it did th eday I installed it. 3M clear bra has saved me alot of $$$$ in glass headlamp and aux lamp lenses. Just a little FYI.

Also you will be thrilled with those lights, they are BRIGHT and they go FAR, mine are more of a pencil beam where as your are designed for mounting lower and a wider beam pattern.

I use mine for off road so they are mounted up high:

Looks like what you bought is called "new/old stock". The lights look like they are new as in never sold but they have been discontinued (clear lense fogs) for a year or so and therefore considered old stock.
An excellent buy IMO as I much prefere the clear to the amber/ion color.

Thanks for the reply guys, I saw them listed on ebay and there was no reserve. I got them for $96.00 plus s/h. From what I saw they retail for around $190. Hopefully they send it out soon (already paid for them). Do you guys have any recommendations as far as headlight bulbs go? I want something fairly cheap (under $50) that will whiten my headlights up. Thanks for the help again!

Mike~
