PIAA Group Purchase Pricing

Hey Matt, Performance Products has something like that for the Explorers. It has cut outs on the sides for factory size rectangular lights and round cut outs in the middle for Hella H3, but I am sure some Piaa would fit.

yeah I've seen that before, basically all that is is a standard airdam with some holes cut in it... the PIAA one is like a whole different kind, and of course it's custom made for their lights, so theres no weird bolting or welding or anything you need to do, the brackets are already in there and placed perfectly for their lights. By the way, the H3 is a bulb not a lamp. By the way, did you decide not to get the 520's and 910's that you were saying you wanted earlier?
 






130W?

Matt: whats the pricing on the 55/130 H3 bulbs? I was just browsing around and either learned or was reminded that PIAA makes both a 55=85W (Part#15455) AND a 55=130W (Part#15485 version of the H3 replacement. Are both the same price for the discount? I've checked around and the 130s seem to be $3-6 more retail wise. I'll be interested in getting these bad boys. But..you think the 130W would run much hotter..like enough to melt or cause a problem with factory lamps or if used as replacement bulbs for other brands?
 






If we are talking about putting them in stock lights, I would use the 85w=130w. They could quite possibly melt your wiring, and you won't notice much of a difference because the wires are only receiving so many watts anyway. They would be the same price though.

I kinda agree, which is why I was asking in the first place, but I'm just wondering if they both claim a 55W draw but the only difference is the output (85/130) that shouldnt affect anything other than the temperature the bulb (and therefore the housing, lens etc) sees. Or does it really not work that way and the 55=130w puts a bigger strain on the system than the 55=85w? Gah..I just wanna use these for my driving/fog combo (just the driving) for massive bright light..and perhaps for two roof mounted ones too...would the 55=130s be ok in the PIAA 980s and 1500s (or other aftermarket lights)as driving bulb replacements?

Matt, do you know who owns that truck. I'm interested in finding out how he installed his PIAA Pro 90. I know the price is above $400.00. I'm not sure how much is the labor (though someone quoted me for over $800 installed). BTW, I sent you a check yesterday for the PIAA superwhite bulbs (9007).

That would be a user named cm. He's only posted 4 times though, and hasn't posted in quite a long time. I'm not sure how you would get ahold of him. THe install wouldn't be terribly hard, the hardest part would be trimming exactly the spot required in the bumper. Installation seriously couldn't be much easier once you get them mounted.
 






I'd just like to thank Matt for his efforts in coordinating this group buy. Not only to get with PIAA to buy them, he collected the money, kept everyone well informed and is taking care of the shipping details as well.

aww shucks... twerent nothin, LOL. I'm just glad to get the whole deal out of my hair, which is what I told the shipping ladies here today, LOL.
 






Hey Matt. Thank you very very much for letting us to get these lights at a great price. I got them yesterday and took me about 30 minutes to install. For the left side, I took the battery out so I can reach to the light socket. It's pretty easy to install. Again, thanks very very much Matt!!

Hey Billy, did you like that I left the price tag on there from 4-wheel parts so you could see what you WOULD'VE paid? :). Seriously, glad you like em... did you like the difference in lighting?

I'm so glad!! I wouldn't pay $82.95 for a pair of these bulbs. Thank you bunches!! Yea, I really like the difference in lighting. It's a lot whiter!!! I can see more clearly. The high beam is even better!! Seems like I can see even farther now. It's great!! I just can't thank you enough for letting us do this.
 






Glad to hear you like the lights, I hope as soon as everyone else gets theres I will hear similar responses (I just shipped out 7 boxes with bulbs only, so hopefully will be hearing more soon) :). And as always if you want to thank anyone for getting this "extra special deal", donate $5 or $10 to the site, that way everybody wins :).
 






Hopefully everyone has received their lights by now... I did traces and it looks like everyone had gotten theres... if you ordered some and haven't gotten them yet (aside from soupbone and marvin the martian, whos lights will be going out on Monday), please let me know and I'll give you the tracking number!
 






Took an hour last night to install the new Pro 80Xt's in the space once occupied by my Hella FF's. I guess they will provide some backup lighting once the summer hits and the roof rack appears out of hibernation. Then I will have two sets of Piaa Pro 80's, 1 set PIAA 1700X all facing forward, and my Hella FF's to cast a light in the rear. One thing I liked better about the PIAA's was, you don't have to pass the large black connector through the firewall(Hella), just a small wire connector. Oh, and the light was just a hair brighter. LOL

ok I take it your being sarcastic about the brightness... :). Glad you liked the install, if you need more PIAA's let me know :).
 






Yes Matt, they were very bright. I couldn't even see my headlights and 1700's when the 80's were on. It makes a huge difference going from the roof to the front of the truck too. I haven't had the other set on in a long time. I almost forgot how bright they were. Just wait til I get the other set on the rack and someone won't dim their brights. Can you say 'retinal fusion'? I knew ya could. Nah, I wouldn't do that to them.

Also, does PIAA or someone else make a multi-switch plate or a way to keep all the switches together? I hope your understanding what I'm asking.. Thanks.
 






at this time, PIAA does not make a multi-switch bracket, I know what your talking about... I have recommended that to them before though... it'd be nice to have something that made the install look cleaner and more professional.
 






hey, matt... got my lights yesterday. WOW!! i love these guys!! the 9007's make the factory headlights look dim in comparison!! it took me about 1.5 hrs to install the 520's due to the fact that i had to remove the old lights i had in my brush guard, but no worries. this is exactly the look/performance i was looking for with this setup. thanks for the deal! one ??, how sturdy are the lenses on the 520's? are they especially susceptible to rock chips? i would hate to break them after spending so muck money on them. also, can you get the light locks for the 520's?

I've never broken, cracked, chipped one, etc. adn I've dragged em along the ground and smashed em into tree branches. I think if anyone could break one, I could :). As for the light locks, yes I can get them... I'll find out a price for you hopefully tomorrow.
