Picking up Explorer got some questions

Well My 93 Nissan Pathfinder finally conked out on me it had 200k on it so i got my use from it. But I am a ford guy i have a had many mustangs and currently own a modded 04 GT, so I went looking at explorers and found one I liked and bought it. It's a 1996 XLT AWD 5.0L V8 with 86k on the clock. Now I dont go pick it up until saturday so My question is with this mileage is there any routine maintenance or problem areas I should be looking for. I mean when I test drove it everything seemed ok except for a low brake pedal and a lil rust on the rear chrome bumper. If anyone on here can give me any info on some preventive maintenance or problem areas to look at I would appreciate it. Oh yeah what size rear end gears do the v8's come with? and are they capable of towing a trailered car? Thanks again for any help you can give me.

Welcome to the site, search is your friend pretty much anything you could ever dream up to ask about you explorer has already been asked and answered to try to look around first before asking a bunch of questions. I don't know to much about the 2nd gens but you should be able to look at the sticker on your drivers door and find the axle code. Here are the codes:

43 Open 3.08
41 Open 3.27
42 Open 4.10
46 Open 3.73
45 Open 3.55
D4 Limited Slip 3.73
D2 Limited Slip 4.10
L73 Limited Slip 3.73
