I've searched thru the forums and didn't really come upon a clear answer. I just bought the Pioneer DEH-P9600MP and it should be shipped to me in about a week or so. I just wanted to know if the factory changer would work with my HU.

i have the same question, only about a sony/kenwood unit

they both have changer controls, and I have a factory changer, just wondering if they will work together too, ty

Neither cases will work. You must have the changer from the same company in order for it to work.

or else use an fm modulator

you really don't want to use that excellent pioneer hu with your crappy stock changer reading the signal fm modulated or not

actually mine is already hooked up using a fm modulator, how would I transfer that to my new unit?

(just in case I actually do want to keep using the thing in this case....)

Good point. And now that I think about it, I don't think I'd even need a CD-changer at all. I'd just put all the music I'd want to listen to on just a single mp3 cd.

yeah, the more i think about it, the more i realize that there is no point in connecting a changer to my car that goes through the fm, does not have cd text, and would not work with the stereo changer controls anyway

don't get me started on mp3s...
