Is there any reason why I should stay away from Pioneer's subs and amps? My Pioneer speakers and headunit are really nice I am just wondering if the same can be said about the subs and amps.

Pioneer makes great car stereo system but their Amp and Component Speakers are not up to par.

What about Kenwood amps?

I would use Pioneer before Kenwood. Check out Eclipse amps, and depending on your budget I would look at Boston Acoustics or Infinity components. In the end, car audio is very subjective. Just buy what sounds good to you.
