Which tire would the group suggest ?

I am planning on lowering my 97 sport by removing the tt bold and adding either a 2" or 3" lowering block in the rear.

My plan is to run 20x8.5 wheels. If I do this what size tire would I go with ?

Thanks

I have nothing but good things to say about my pirelli scorpion zeros. Theyre great!

For the size... it depends on what size your stock tire is. Its either a 235/75/15 or a 255/70/16 (I think).

For a 235/75/15 you could go with a 255/45/20 or something like a 275/40/20. Depends on the width you want.

For a 255/70/16 you could go with a 255/50/20 or something like a 275/45/20. Again, depends on the width you want.

How manymiles do you have on them? How is the wear?

Thanks.....

Ummmmm.... Ive probably got about 7k on them. They wear like iron. My alignment was off and they wore uneven so that probably took several thousand miles off the life of the fronts but the ones that were on the rear are in great shape. Traction is outstanding. I would rather be running them right now in the snow instead of my crapyears, but there's probably 20 pounds of salt stuck to the side of my car right now and my cobras are expensive.

yeah, i think defiantguy might be right.

though, i love my pirelli scorpion zeroes too. i leave em on all year and they kick ass in the snow. ive had em on for probably about 15k now (since thanksgiving of 2001.)

I just threw out some sizes that were close to the stock size. I didnt even think about availability. Good point tho.

If you can find them....pirelli scorpion zeroes all the way for sure....12K miles and hardly noticable wear so far.

I would go with the Pirellis over the Yokohama's. I just heard that Yokohamas are somewhat a noisy for a street tire. I have Toyo Proxies and love them I am running the 265/50R20 with slight rubbing on full steering lock mounted on 8.5 wide rim. If price is a factor then go with the Goodyears GT2. Those are popular tires and they last too. I think the size on those are 275/45R20.

i work in the tire industry, and at my store, we sell a lot more pzeros than the yokos... they are both good tires, but in what i have seen and heard from others like my manager and customers and others intercompany, they all say nothing but great things about the pzeros.....
