Pirelli Scorpion Zero Tires - "PNCS"

Hello all, just joined so I could post here my experience with these POS PNCS tires. Mounted them and less then a month later we had a cold snap and the tires became unbalanced, figured at first snow or ice build up, but no. Then I thought maybe I lost a stick on weight, but the odd thing was they wouldnt hold a balance .. on the balancer! lol never had that before. So google to the rescue and I found this thread, so I unmounted my tire. EVERY SINGLE piece of foam was dislodged perfectly. The glue completely broke down, on ALL four tires! There isnt a rip or tear in the foam. This is a SERIOUS design flaw that pirelli refuses to acknowledge. I've emailed them these photos and their response "contact the dealer for warranty concerns" they couldnt care less their tires are failing. Not just a little bit, complete failure. The glue lost its bond so effectively all I did was pull the chunks out (they were ALL loose, so pretty easy) and remount and rebalance.

Wow, what a mess. Thanks for posting the pics. Had never seen that before. Have you talked to the dealer?

No I haven’t had a chance yet. I emailed pirelli while I was at work. They haven’t responded since the original “not our problem” response they sent. Was really shocked at that response. I never even mentioned asking for replacement, I just wanted to bring it to their attention

Thank you all for the info in this thread! We have a 2020 ST with the PNCS, and when driving above 65 on the interstate in 90* weather, it was shaking and vibrating HORRIBLE... I was afraid it was a strut or drive shaft/t-case. The ST Group on Facebook told me about this foam in the tires... They said it could come loose and cause the issue with the tires not balancing, which is causing this issue. I looked at Pirelli's website, and they currently do not make a 21" tire for the ST with the PNCS... so that tells me there was an issue with this. I am taking it in on Tuesday for an entire balance, and if they cannot balance them, I will have the tires popped off and foam dammed with 20,000 miles. I will pull it out of the tires so we can drive the vehicle and feel safe.

The permanent fix which Pirelli should have done in the first place is to make the foam insert one piece so that it's shape holds it in place even if the glue fails. I never imagined that the foam was made of several rectangles.

so took the ST to the tire shop, the GM was like, i have never heard of this with these tires... they could not get the tires to Force Road Balance... so they popped them off... he texted me with a picture and the foam had moved all around and come loose in the tire. Now we have 2 with and 2 without the PNCS Foam in them... solved the problem right off the bat.

Thanks for the insight and helping us solve this issue.
