I've got a dumb question. Whay size bolt and nut hold the radius arms, and coils to the I-beam on a 93 explorer, I know I will have to go to sears to buy one, didn't want to buy a whole set.

No sorry about that, I gave a bad description. The bolt that holds the radius arm, and coils to the d-35 housing or axle, I'm not sure what you would call it. It is the huge bolt that is down by the wheel end.

yeah.... i kinda thought that... i wouldnt be able to tell you the size of that.... only thing i could say is take it out and bring to the hardware store... and i would think that would be a grade 5 if not 8 bolt.....

My problem is that I do not have a wrench big enough to take out, I was hoping someone here would know what size it is, so I can go buy the wrench or socket to remove it.

ahhh....hum.... i dont think i have a wrench big enough here for that either..or id go look.. i think its 1" 1/2 but i cant remember.... why are you replacing it anyway?

Installing the infamous skyjacker class two lift.

I bought one last year for my '92, but I don't remember what size. I'll check tonight and get back with you tomorrow, if you haven't figured it out by then.
FWIW when I bought mine, I would talk to the place I was looking at. In some cases I would buy it with the idea that I could come right back in and return it if it didn't fit. In others, they just let me take the sockets out one at a time until I found the right size, or that they didn't have a size that fit.

That would be cool, I will check tomarrow:D

Mine is a wrench too, You have to get a really really deep socket to be able to fit on top of the nut that holds the spring down.

Appreciate that, yeah I was wondering how to get to the nut inside the coil.
Thanks, David

Well you can fish a few extensions through the top and do it that way but if you plan on taking off the bolt/stud that's undneith that you pretty much can only use a wrench.

If you use a wrench, you can slide the wrench in between the coil spring. You have to kind of jimmy it but thats how I did mine and it worked perfect.

I will confirm that it is 1 1/8" size.

Good Luck.
