First I would like to say hello and thanks for having a site like this, that hopefully can make my life alot easier.
Now for my problem, my truck 2003 Explorer XLT 115,000 miles on it is having issues, so there for this single mom is having issues as well!!!!!! I have been feeling my truck chug, my rpm's are running kinda high, but the speed does not match up, until it kicks in.. Once it "kicks in" engages then everything seems to run fine. I have taken it to auto zone they said spark plugs and wires (replaced them), still did it took it to a shop they said cylinder 1 and 3 were missing, replaced the coil pack, now I am hearing speed control sensor. The problem I am having is, I don't mind to replace these things but I am not trying to have it nickle and dime me with a limited income to find out it is the transmission. Please help me, I love my truck just want it back to normal..

Welcome to this forum! Do you know if there are any trouble code numbers? Do you have a flashing O/D light or a check engine light? It sounds like the transmission is slipping.

I have since, taken my truck to a dealer they told me that the engine was "going bad", worst mistake of my life.... I took it to a different mechanic who red lined it and said that my engine was fine. He drove it 24 hours and of course it did nothing for him. Now i can actually feel my tranny slipping.. Oh the dealer also told me that my pcm was going out. Should I just replace my tranny and be done with it? Yes the check engine light is kind of like a pop up on your computer it comes and goes. The only code it is throwing is a misfire code??
