I recently rebuilt my A4LD from my 94 Ford Ranger RWD. I used the Transgo correction kit, followed instructions meticulously, and used proper lubriction and also added sonnax boost valve and manual valve index spool from sonnax. I also replaced both selenoids for ***** and giggles since I had the whole thing apart. I put back together with a new filter, tourqed down everything to proper specs, and filled with Lucas trani fluid, also used a qt. of lucas transmission fix. I started her up and nothing, no gears.
I am wondering if I possibly hooked up the selinoids incorrectly, or if I possibly put the manual valve index spool in the opposite position as there were 2 ways I could have put it due to the fact that it is connected to that swinging right angle thingamagigger-( I know Im not too knowladgable but F%&$ that- thats how rednecks learn. Gimmie some Help!!!

Hey Chris. Merry Christmas!

Rear through Glacier's A4 VB rebuild thread. That will wallk you through the rebuild process. I used it with great success.

If you hooked up the solenoids incorrectly that would not prevent you from getting movement. I would check to see if there is any pressure in park.

Did you half fill the converter before you installed it?

I used his thread to rebuild the valve body. How do I fill the tourque covo half way if I havent broke the trani from the engine?

How do u check for pressure?

Sounds Like the Torque Converter did not seat into its bushing and pump , If So your going to need to replace the Torque converter and the Bushing in the Bell housing , If you Get a Trans Pressure Gauge It will tell you If your Pump is making pressure and tell if your TC is your problem .

Oh, sorry it sounded like you rebuilt the trans from your first post.

Sounds like you did something wrong. There is a pressure port on the driver's side of the trans behind the linkage. PM me your email address and I will send you a manual.

Dont know how to send u a personal message. I know you probably ask yourself why or how Im working on a transmission. My apologies

Nothing to apologize for. We all started out not knowing stuff like that.

Click on my name, that will take you my user page, under where my name is on that page you will see "send message". Click there and you should be able to figure it out from there.
