I have 99 Mountaineer, factory MACH Stereo (amp in back) single cd and tape player with 6 cd slave changer and steering wheel controls. What other years Ford/Mercury radios can I plug and play without changing wiring harness (I do not mind losing the 6 cd changer if new radio had multi changer in it) I do not need the tape player either. The 99 had many problems, I fixed display but tuning is crap.
When did ford change the wiring harness? I prefer to go with newer models if possible. I have seen where folk wanted to fix existing, or change out completely and most recommend sticking with the same and fixing or buying refurbished, this is not really the option I wish.
