Something that involves a 3rd gen explorer
6-1-07-explorer-ram-crashed.gif

This is a picture of two-vehicle accident at 9:50 a.m. on Thursday, May 3, 2007. James P. was driving a 2001 Dodge Ram pick-up truck, while attempting a left turn off Lightfoot Fork Road (KY 1657) onto US 27 when he hit Amber C., who was driviung a 2004 Ford Explorer.

Both vehicles lost control and ran off road on US 27. The Explorer came to rest with the front of vehicle going up a hill on top of small trees, and the Dodge Ram spun facing the opposite direction also on the side of the roadway. Both vehicles were badly damaged. Pendleton County Ambulance Service, TransCare, Northern Pendleton Ambulance Service, Falmouth Police Department, Pendleton County Sheriff's Department, and Tim Norton Towing Service were all at the scene of the accident. - Robert M.

It seems like every 4x4 that comes out now has IFS but that doesnt mean they arent a capable off roader. as long as youve got low range your right. Sure a little extra height wouldnt go astray but that is an easy fix. For the most part a weekend getaway then being able to drive to work monday morning is a good thing - only paying one vehicles rego and insurance leaves more money in the kitty for those little extras we all like to do to our Ex's.

that wreck was close to where i live!!!

Hmm...look in the background...there's a white SUV, looks like a police explorer :dunno:

Bloody good eyes there Nate, I reckon your right about that cop car. a bit early for the bloke in the dodge to be on the turps. If you buy that vehicle second hand is it called an ex police ex?

Time for a -

Sorry ya'll I voted on-road.

I'm sporting a lifted '04. But... I think these truck were designed with an on-road lifestyle in mind. Srsly.

They ride GREAT on the highway and get pretty decent mileage considering they're size.

Sure they were designed to pass all the ford truck durability testing, but really I think they're paved road cruisers...

Close voting results I see

People, he is asking about the 3rd gen section, NOT Fords intention for the 3rd gen Explorer;)

As before, I feel most members in the 3rd gen section are aiming for either off-road, or more off-road worthy. VERY FEW street runners on here in my opinion.

Yep limited, exactly...we all know what ford's intention was, on-road mall cruiser!

Hey man, everyone has their own opinion thats what this poll is for....For those who haven't voted, vote and make your opinion heard!

I understand the opinion part, I just want to make sure people know what they were voting for;)

Here's your bump-

For my last post of the day...

These keep getting better and better.

Oh crippity-crap then...

I voted wrong.

I'm thinkning that 65-75% of the posts in this forum are about off-roadish stuff...

Being new to the forum, I have seen more off-road discussions, which is more where my interest is - as far as what I want to do with mine. But I do like lookin' at those custom street rods....

Since We're so off topic, I'll add to it...
The 2010 Truck Based Ex has been officially replaced as production on the 2011 Ex has been started as of wednesday december 1st.
I'm going to park my 05 Ex next to one....to embarrass it (2011).
Good Signs for Ford's Torrence Plant
