I went to start the Mounty last week, turned the key and then released it fired, then I heard a pop, it never really started. I turned the key again and it started right up. My idle is now high (just shy of 1k) and you can tell it is not running right either.

Any suggestions on what to look for? I did a quick look under the hood, hoping that I would find a readily accessible vacuum line popped off, didn't see anything, but, I couldn't see under the upper intake manifold where the vaccum lines run. Could be my imagination, but, it sounds like an air leak on the drivers side.

Sounds like you popped either a vacuum line or a cap. If I recall correctly there are 2 vacuum ports on the underside/front and one on the underside/back of that intake. (I have a different manifold on my 5.0 now and the mind is the first thing to go.)

I know what you mean, I vaguely remember the bottom of a GT40 intake and 94/95 intake, but can't remember which is which.

I am going to get a can of carb cleaner on the way home, hopefully that will at least get me in the area.

Got it. actually, I didn't.

It was running pretty bad and I stopped at a shop. The guy found the problem in a split second. It was a vacuun cap that was directly under the tank portion of the upper intake.

Now it is just sucking gas.

Thanks for the suggestions...

John
