that sounds awesome, try to get some pics!

Don't you aim them like how you aim halogens?? If so, park your truck at the wall and mark with masking tape at the hottest spot of the light beam. Then back up 25 feet and see where the light is hitting. They should be slightly below the tape line. Since HID's have a very sharp cutoff, you should be able to find out easily.

Sounds very awesome. I also want some pics!!

I don't know if that cutoff will work in the stock 92 housings. I thought they were part of the reflector.
Dazed

I think the Porsche lights are projectors so there should be a cut off. A very sharp cut off.

i took them out of the projector housing and rigged em up for my X. I dont think that HID is as good in the 1st gen housing. I found a place that sells 5x7 spider housings that should fit in. So im gonna pick up a pair and get em installed soon. Ill get some pics up soon.

Can't wait to see it! Good luck til then!

That's because arc discharge lights are completely different from filament lights.
Bulbs and housings are not universally interchangable like that.

Also, are these bi-xenon projectors? I've been looking at some from BMW's and Audi's but have no idea how hard it would be to retrofit them, and how the pattern would look.

I still have the old housings from the porche, i think im going to try and get ahold of another pair of HID's and take the original projectors and mold them into the bumper air scoop thingy.

Are you using the projection housings too? Where did you get this stuff? It's gotta be a couple grand from the dealer.

Nah,, im still using the X housing, but the projecter is able to be disassembled from the rest of the housing. I got a guy on the inside of the dealership that gets them to me for $100. They come from porche's, Infiniti's, and mercedes

Ok. So the company is probably Philips / Hella. I don't think companies manufacture their own projectors anyways. I'd LOVE to see some pics when you get a chance. I'm about to get a guy to fit some HID projectors into my housing.

I just epoxied the bulb to the lamp housing ring thing. Its a philips light, and bosche ballast.

looking at the diamond lenses from the other thread i see that the glass/plastic lense is not clear, it still has the lines. anyway to get rid of that?

www.hidforum.com supposedly has a thread for sanding those lines. Might wanna think about Lexan plexiglass too.

APC has a H4 universal houseing

think it would fit?APC lights

I also sent an email/proposal to the APC marketing department about making a projector/diamond lense for the 1st gen X's along with links to many forums asking about them.

I think I asked about those somewhere before and got a no, but am not sure. They sure look like our lenses. Do you know of the dimensions?
