Possible fuel injectors..

vacuum leak is very possible, the high idle is periodic too. i dont hear any stray vacuum lines though but i guess it could be sucking it up from the transmission vacuum modulator.

Ill check the codes as soon as i can :) its raining out so ambition is low today.

ive replaced the hoses to the EGR system, the DPFE or whatever the heck the rectangle thing is :) the rest at the octopus are still ok, only cracked line i can notice was the one from the charcoal canister to the purge solenoid.. it tends to pop out sometimes, which i assume isn't helping anything.

And the codes are:
124 - Throttle Position Sensor Voltage Higher Than Expected

185 - Mass Air Flow Sensor Circuit Voltage Lower Than Expected (possibly because i've unplugged it a few times)

186 - Injector Pulse Width Higher Than Expected (With BARO Sensor) / Injector Pulse Width Higher Or Mass Air Flow Lower Than Expected (Less BARO Sensor)

332 - Insufficient EGR Flow Detected (might be related to low ide when i had the IAC disconnected)

335 - Pressure Feedback EGR Sensor Voltage Higher Or Lower Than Expected During KOEO

I think i need to switch out the injectors soon, and ill try the TPS on the spare throttle body.

Going to check TPS tomorrow or soon and see if its over 1volt. Having a hunch that it just may be a culprit as its burning rich still...

SOP when dealing with EEC-IV codes, especially when you get a list of them, is to deal with KOEO codes first. My code list indicates that the only KOEO code in that list is the 335. It wouldn't hurt to check the TPS, but I'd probably start with the DPFE circuit.

Havent got to the DPFE circuit yet.. and not sure how to proceed with that one. should i buy a new one and start there? never have replaced that but ive replaced the egr valve.

TPS showed up 1.17 volts, about 1.20 when on, I loosened the screws and moved it a bit, and my idle came under control (was higher before, dropped to about 700/800 rpm from 1100 or so), at least for the time i was testing it out, now im just drilling the holes a bit bigger in order to get it down to .90 or so :)

I'll keep this updated after i get it back on tightened down!

(Also that error 335 is that possibly because ive unplugged that while its been running? im bad for unplugging stuff lol)

factory spec tps voltage when closed is something like .981.

Search for the "TPS mod" it has the specs.

I think it's supposed to be like 4.8ish at full throttle. But that's me shootin in the dark, check the mod thread above, it may list full throttle voltage as well.

A KOEO 335 would almost certainly show up if the DPFE was unplugged.

you people and your fancy acronyms. :)

0.50 - 0.98 i think is the happy limit :), I'm down to 1.06 now, I don't want to drill out the holes anymore then they are though.. almost out of metal!

(also checked that thread yesterday, very handy the tps thing. At least it lowered my idle a bit)

Cleaned up the replacement injectors tonight, probably will test tomorrow or Wednesday.

Well lets add some insult to injury... Transmission is definitely not running right. Sounds like metal is rubbing (kind of like grinding but smooth??) when taking off from a stop, up until about 60kph.. 1st gear will lag/stutter at 3000-4000 rpm, then sounds like i tries to engage, fails, then engages.

Im thinking the forward planetary is toast, or at least on its way out.. not entirely sure though. At least this ones lasted over a year... I also thought it could be the transfer case, as theres significant play in the output shaft, but that wouldn't explain why 1st gear is hesitant and sometimes doesnt shift right..

Also the TPS helped, idle is good now. still burning a bit rich, and gas mileage is still crap.

Well things aren't getting better, swapped the transfer case (1/8" of play in the output shaft up and down) and still no resolution to the metal sound. Thinking its possibly the exhaust clamp i put hitting the radius arm crossmember, as theres only 1/4" clearance there, and it only makes that noise when im accelerating at an average rate (its fine very slow, or very high rpm). the slippage in first might just need an oil/filter change to fix, at least im crossing my fingers.

The parents are talking about getting another car and letting me drive their old one until college is done, and i might be lookin at another $1600 dropped into the truck this fall if that transmissions toast (still needs new tires too).

Another mileage update... 12.7 mpg, 215.7km on 39.8 litres...

15 this fill up, took my foot out of the gas.

Well small update, gas mileage is going back down even though im driving somewhat normal. Thinking i might swap the DPFE and see the results from that. Fuel injector stopped acting up, though it has been cooler lately.

Currently doing more body work to it before i keep diagnosing the engine, also planning on getting new exhaust.. probably going with 3" and a flowmaster 70 series.

Thinking i should just make my registry page.... i forget were the old one went off to hehe

Well its been a while, haven't put in the spare injectors i got yet (Ive gone through another tranny though..), i found my idler pulley seems to be toast. It is harder to turn than my power steering pump (probably twice as hard). Its been squeaky for a while but i guess finally decided to die.

Will be changing that today, wondering if i'll see an increase in gas mileage because the last couple of weeks have been worse then normal..

Also might swap the mass air sensor and DPFE sensor off the 95 and see if theres a difference too.
