I just installed an alternator from Mr. Alternator and now my engine is doing this odd little ticking like it is low on oil but it is not because I checked it. I noticed that the pulley on the new alternator is alot smaller than the stock one and I thought that that might have something to do with it. But little as I know about alternators, it probably does not. Has anyone else encountered this problem and might have a solution for it?

I also have a mr. alternator alt., and i wasnt getting the ticking at first, but i just noticed it recently... its not really that bothering, but there is definately ticking... thats about all the info i got for ya.. maybe someone else can help us solve our problems, even though its not really bothersome

Your are right, it is not that bothersome, but the ticking tells me that something that was going one way before the alternator, is now going a different way with the new one. I am wondering that since the pulley is smaller, wouldn't it cause everything else connected to the belt to run slower or faster? And if so, couldn't something bad come from that?
