Is it true you can only move pedals on platinum edition? I read the manual to figure out how to move the pedals and it seemed to say platinum only. The brake is so far back even with seat moved up it is hard to reach, for a tall person even.

Our 17 Sport has power adjustable pedals

Available on the Limited, Sport and Platinum but not on the XLT or Base.

Ok I have an XLT with sport appearance package but I guess that doesn't count. So there is not way to adjust, not even manually?

And I meant the accelerator is too far away.
The Adjustable Pedal feature moves both the brake and accelerator pedals. That feature is not included in the Sport Appearance Package.
Regarding any manual adjustment I recommend checking with your dealer to see if it's possible.
Please add 'XLT' to your profile so it shows in the margin. That can be very helpful info to have at times. Thanks.

All show and no go...lol.
Joking aside, looks like you did not go through all options and features.

I have them on my 16 Sport. However, I am also wondering if my new 18 Sport will have them. I am picking up my new 18 Sport either tomorrow or Friday, and literally the first thing I am going to check is to see if it has the adjustable pedals.
It does say in the 18 brochure that only the Platinum has them, so I will see. I will be bummed if they pulled them off the 18 Sport, as my 16 has them.

I was going to refer you to your online Window Sticker via the VIN lookup, but I just looked at my window sticker ('17 Platinum) and the pedal adjustments aren't listed anywhere as a standard feature or an option.

However, if you look at the 2017 online brochure linked below, you can see the adjustments are only available on the Platinum and Limited as a standard feature, and the Sport as part of a package. Not available on the Base or XLT.

Hello to all,

With regret I have the definitive answer on this:

My 13 Limited had it. My 16 Sport had them. My new 18 Sport which is at the dealer today getting detailed for a delivery to me tomorrow. It has the 401A Package, and the Safe and Smart Package, (new for 18).

However:

Ford took OUT the adjustable pedals in the Sport's 401A Package for 18!

Awful decision. The only way in 18 to have adjustable pedals in any Explorer is they come standard on the Platinum, and nothing else in the Explorer line has them, even as an option.

What rocket scientist at Ford made this bad decision to pull adjustable pedals out of the 401A Package on the Sport? How did they come to this awful decision?

My 13 Limited had auto hi-beams and rain sensing wipers. My 16 Sport did not, even with the 401A package, but it had adjustable pedals.
Now my 18 Sport has auto hi-beams, and rain sensing wipers, but it does not have adjustable pedals with the 401A package.

Go figure...?

The 2018 Order Guide posted in this Forum on August 4th shows that the adjustable pedals are only available on the Platinum trim.

It's called "de-contenting". Auto manufactures have been doing it for years. They reduce the features on newer models of the same design while raising the price of the newer model.
