I have a 98 explorer EB with a bad motor in the driver's seat. The motors come in an assembly of three. I have looked everywhere and cannot find the part number for the motor assembly. Can someone help me with the number?

i am guessing you have no auto wrecker near you? also are you sure they are getting power?

Yes, it's getting power. I took the entire seat track assembly out. The motor will turn just a small amount then stop. It is almost like it's binding on something. I have checked everything I could thing of. I lubed all the tracks and gears. The motor does nothing now. I think it is burned out. If you are referring to a salvage yard, then I do. I plan to contact some on Monday. I guess finding just the motors is out of the question.

I would think you could find a seat frame at a salvage yard with three good (used) motors.

Good luck.

I read on here somewhere, that there is a small screw or rivet that drops and lodges in the track.

My drivers side has the same issue.

I just haven't cared enough to futz with it.

The motor assemblies are a set/unit. You can get a motor assembly from a passenger seat track, they are the same left and right. It takes some thought to figure out how to remove them from the tracks, but they do come out.
