Power Seat Repair (not working)

The passenger power seat in my 1995 Ford Explorer is not working and I'm trying to figure out ways of repairing/replacing the parts in the seat.

Any advice/links?

I would say it is probably easier to replace....

It is possibly just the switch that is bad. Will it move at all (i.e. front-back or up down)?

No the thing doesn't move any more.

It will occasionally move upwards (vertically) a little bit but will not go down.

The only thing that works is the lumbar inflation thing, but it doesn't deflate anymore.

My drivers seat would not move front to back or up & it was the switch that was bad. A new one from Ford is $70-75. My lumbar was not affected.

So did you have Ford replace this at a dealer or did you buy the parts and replace it yourself?

I did it myself. It will be easier if you remove the seat. The plug is under the seat and has a plastic pin that holds it to the seat. It was a PITA to get the plug connected with where it is located under the seat

So a power passenger seat can be added?

A dealership (TC) in another city told me the cost of adding a power passenger seat to the 03 was not worth the cost. How do you add a power seat? All the plugs appear to be in place under the seat, and the seat appears to only need that power cradle(?). Is there more to it than that?

Well I'm editing. 410 says its just a replacement and running a little wire...

Yes, all of the plugs are under the seat... so is it a matter of adding a new seat altogether or just the cradle that the seat sits in? I'm gonna run outside and look around...

I haven't actually seen the underside of my seats so I can't answer that, yet. Tomorrow morning when I have a little light I'll snap a few pics of each seat, the manual and power ones as I have one of each and try to find some differences. Unless of course someone can answer without having to explore...
