power steering in and out

i was pulling into my house as normal and parked in the garage and turned my x off ran inside and got my books then got into my car and started it and put into reverse, and then as i go to turn i realized i didnt have my power steering. i quickly put it in park and turned it off and restarted it and everything is just fine now. but it still leaves me wondering what would cause that to happen ne1 know?

ok dont want to alrm you but I had the exact same prob with mine...had to change ball joints...and the steering rack ps pump was shot too....alot of $$ but then again just check your ps level first...and then you will see.

Are you sure it started the first time? It sounds like you were in a hurry, and I know that I've done that more than once when I was in a hurry or just not paying attention. I would "start" and not notice that it didn't really start until I went to move the steering wheel. Just a thought. Good luck.

im 99 percent positive it started, cuz i moved backwards like 20 feet unless i sumhow was listening to the radio and had it in neutral at the same time

but maybe it didnt start i have no idea, thats an interesting thought though

it started a few months ago...with being hard to turn...first I though because it was cold here...but then change the oil with Lucas oil....worked ok for 2 wks...and then did again ...tr the same thing again...but nothing was working....so had to change the pump and steering rack....and while at it change the lower and upper ball joints. Finally everything is working great for at least 1 month now. total cost for all approx $1300 canadian..ouch
